Arena Consultancy was hired by the Greater London Authority (GLA) to produce a research report on the esports sector in London. The project's main objective was to help the Mayor fulfill his ambition for London to become a global esports center.
Our team delivered a comprehensive research report that outlined the current state of esports in London, assessed its future potential, and identified the development needed to achieve that potential. We also created a PowerPoint presentation to share the key findings with a wider audience.
The project involved a research and engagement program with a broad range of esports stakeholders across the city. We analyzed the long-term value of esports to London, covering its economic benefits, employment opportunities, consumer behavior, and its broader social and cultural value.
To provide a full picture, our work also included analysis of how London's infrastructure compares to other cities and case studies of how other cities have successfully positioned themselves for esports. We also explored how London can strengthen support for grassroots, education, and major events.
